“Right By My Side” A fleeting glimpse at a precious moment of love between one man and his dog.

This painting is one of a new series focussing simply on the relationship between two legs and four. I loved painting it so much this is the second version, this time with the mans head cropped.

In a world full of uncertainty, chaos and change the dependability of a dog is a comforting constant. While the world rushes by, dogs live fully in the moment, reminding us to slow down, appreciate the now and find joy in the small stuff. 

Dogs have been celebrated in art across cultures and time periods, symbolising loyalty, protection, friendship and love. Their inclusion in art reflects their deep connection to humans and their role as faithful companions. These paintings are Denise’s interpretation of that relationship.
